More About Agape

The Christian Life
Step 1: Believe
What does it mean to believe? “Believing” means to trust in the finished work of Jesus on the Cross to save me from sin and death. It means to turn away from my sin and believe God will save me and make me His child. See Romans 10:9; John 1:12
Step 2: Identify
What does it mean to identify? Jesus calls you to be publicly baptized by immersion in water after you believe as a external symbol of a internal, spiritual union with His death, burial, and resurrection. This is your celebration of His work. See Matthew 3:15; Romans 6:3-8.
Step 3: Belong
What does it mean to belong? Uniting with a local church is the starting point of experiencing life in Christ. God calls each Christian to belong to a local church for the purposes of worship, fellowship, and mission. See Acts 2:42-43; Ephesians 4:1-16; Hebrews 10:24-25; 13:17.
Step 4: Grow
What does it mean to grow? Growth in Christ is called discipleship and sanctification. Learning spiritual disciplines, joining a small group, and reading through the Bible together are just a few ways Christians grow. See John 15:5; 1 Timothy 4:7-8; Romans 8:13.
Step 5: Serve
What does it mean to serve? Each member of Agape is called to serve in unique ways. As you use these resources and your spiritual gifts, you grow as a Christian and the body of Christ is built up. See Romans 12:3-8; Philippians 2:1-8
Step 6: Prepare
What does it mean to prepare? Agape equips Christians for life and everyday ministry by helping you find your gifts, learning the biblical worldview, and how to share the Good News with others. See 1 Corinthians 12; Romans 12:2; 1 Peter 3:15.
Step 7: Reach
What does it mean to reach? Reaching out means sharing the Good News and living for the glory of God. It is not just for Christians with certain gifts or callings. Every Christian has the privilege of inviting others to know Jesus. See Matthew 28:19-20; John 20:20; Acts 1:8.
Step 8: Multiply
What does it mean to multiply? The disciple’s path is not complete until you reach Heaven. However, one milestone of spiritual maturity is helping someone else walk the disciple’s path. Who has God put in your path? See Romans 8:30; Matthew 28:19-20.
